A Little More Background!
Fueled by a passion for the Church to be understood as more than a Sunday event or a building one attends, Pastor Richie began Connections Church with a view toward bringing about a paradigm shift in the modern understanding of the Church. Pastor Richie believes we have "christianized" the American Dream and redefined the Church, not in theology but experience, as a place we go on Sunday. He believes well-intentioned men of God stand each Sunday preaching the truth in theory, while remaining blind practically to their own desire for more: more money, more people, more buildings, and more property. The result has been that the people of God have naturally followed suit in defining their Christian life in terms of going to church and what they do at the church to help it get more.
Connections Church seeks to counter the culture of American Christianity and call people to the gospel through being one church that meets in more than one location. What makes Connections different is that we're not defined by the buildings we meet in, the programs we engage in, or what we do on Sunday mornings. What makes us different is that we are actually a network of many groups, organized into geographic regions throughout the surrounding area, that meet in homes, cafe's, apartment complexes, business offices, and other places for the purpose of being the Church. We call these our 4Ghc (home-church) Groups. Each group performs all the functions of the church so as to model our belief that Christians don't just go to church; but instead, are the church.
We make no claims to be the PERFECT church. We've struggled with many of the same issues you're facing. We've felt the same way about religion, church, and God that you're feeling. The only difference is we've found the WAY to overcome these things...and you're still looking.
We're an exciting, fresh, fun, friendly group of people! And, there's something engaging at Connections Church for all ages. We'd love to hear from you and talk to you about how you can be part of this new and exciting community of faith!
